in order to really enjoy any story, you need to get the ending out of the way as soon as possible

Weekend Book: Sophie Kinsella’s Can you keep a secret?

on July 23, 2012

Once again, Donna thank you for letting me borrow the book! This one is by Sophie Kinsella titled Can you keep a secret? She is also the author of Confessions of a Shopaholic.. i have not read that nor seen the movie but i love this book ( i mean are there books i do not love?lol) But this is quite delightful.

See Emma here is like your typical bubbly, frothy lady who does not know where is going yet she knows she needs to achieve something as she thinks her parents does not see her as successful and she is someone who you will also not notice right away when you are in a crowd and i could totally relate to her with this one.

I thought the movie will be like your typical romantic one but well it isn’t and i love the fact how Sophie created Jack’s character. When i was reading the book i could not help but think of Dermot Mulroney! ( I saw him in The New Girl as Russell) yes, while reading the book, it was like him i could think of and if ever this book will be put in movies, he is the right one for this role..

but yes i love the book, it was light, easy to read, very funny and you go along with her quite well, when she gets annoyed with someone you cannot help but annoyed too! it was crazy reading this but i end up laughing and smiling and also crying, it was that way for me. I am glad i read it, i need books like these that is light and frothy and very witty.

4 stars! 🙂

If you liked this one you should consider checking out Kinsella’s other books. They’re just as light and funny! =D

Books vs movies are so different. Loved your review.

Also check out anything by Madeleine Wickham, They are her earlier works under her real name, but very good! I just reviewed her novel “Cocktails for Three” on my blog if you’d like to check it out!
